Introductory Letter

Dear Prospective Student,

I would be honored to begin teaching you as you embark upon and/or continue your vocal journey. Having had extensive training in voice and music pedagogy, I believe that I have the experience and abilities to help students in whatever phase they are in and to pursue whichever vocal path they desire.

I graduated magna cum laude in April 2021 from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s in music. As a student in BYU’s competitive school of music, I studied Music Education with an emphasis in Choral Education. I sang in the world-renowned choir, BYU Singers, in various music videos, conferences, and with other elite choirs such as Tenebrae and the Tallis Scholars. I received extensive classical training and took courses on German, Italian and French Diction. I currently sing with the Master Chorale of South Florida, who was recently featured in Andrea Bocelli’s Believe World Tour in Miami and with the Palm Beach Symphony for Mozart’s Requiem. Other previous choral experience includes being the Alto section leader in BYU Concert Choir, singing with the ACDA National Honor Choir, and as a student teacher in junior high and high schools.

In addition to my classical training, I have had equally significant experience and training in Musical Theatre, Jazz, and Contemporary vocal styles. At BYU, I was the vocalist for the nationally recognized BYU Jazz Legacy Band. In addition to my pop and rock training, I was the lead singer for a pop/rock band that toured the state performing at fairs and events. In the summer of 2018, I performed in several different shows every day as a performer in the historic town of Nauvoo, Illinois. In the musical theatre category, I placed 3rd in NATS in the Cali-western region in 2018, 2nd place in the state of Utah in 2017 and 1st place in the West Central Region in 2014.

In my studio, I focus not only on the technical but also on the emotional and expressive. I hope to be able to help you develop your gifts so that you can use your voice as a way to express and inspire.

Sincerely,

Allison Wild
